The Moon, in Faces

A full moon against a night sky, composed entirely of individual face photographs — thousands of small portraits carrying one luminous disc. From across the room the moon glows; from arm’s length the mosaic becomes a crowd.

How It Was Made

   A full-moon photograph with a clean, dark sky was chosen as the main image — a simple shape with extreme contrast.

2. 02

   The tile library consisted entirely of portrait photographs — a themed library carrying the concept.

   Skin tones across the library were balanced so faces could serve the bright lunar surface and the dark sky alike.
