Portraits

Portrait Mosaic

A single portrait built from a varied personal photo library. The main image carries strong contrast and a clear subject — the two properties that make a portrait survive tiling. Up close, the tiles resolve into individual travel, family and everyday photographs.

How It Was Made

  1. 01

A high-contrast portrait was selected as the main image, with the face filling most of the frame.

  2. 02

A mixed personal photo library provided the tile palette across bright, dark, warm and cool.

  3. 03

Matching balanced local tile similarity against overall facial tonality; repetition control kept any single photo from dominating.
